In addition the company has also recently (July 2010) become CHAS and Achilles accredited. The company adopts and applies best practice sustainability principles through all aspects of its processes, from raw material procurement through manufacturing to lean on-site installation and construction. UMS’ lightweight steel framing technology has been developed with BRE and SCI, and has a demonstrated capability to construct self-supporting structures up to 30m (11 storeys) high. All of UMS’ recent projects have exceeded the requirements of BREEAM Excellent and our recent product development work will allow new commercial buildings to achieve BREEAM Outstanding. New product development activity will allow new build residential housing schemes to achieve a minimum CSH Level 4. Our products have been independently tested with contribution from our consulting engineers, Oxford Brookes University , BRE, SCI and other accredited test facilities.
