Our early involvement in the student accommodation market has seen us complete over 75 major schemes across the UK since 2003. The accelerated build programme and cost certainty offered by modular build has proved invaluable to developers and funders.

Premier Inn Show Module   The ability to pre-engineer and fast-track build up to 11 storeys using light steel frame modular as the primary structure has proved beneficial to a number of sectors including social and affordable housing, residential and key worker sectors.

Volumetric construction is an ideal method of build for secure prison cells for HM Prison Service. UMS can provide a full turnkey service from design development through to manufacture and construct for buildings as diverse as secure residential accommodation, ancillary buildings and security installations utilising pre-engineered, fully fitted-out modular construction.

UMS has undertaken significant development work for the three and four star hotel sector where volumetric build offers benefits to the funder, the operator and the contractor through accelerated build programmes leading to early return on investment, guaranteed and consistent levels of quality and significant contributions to carbon reduction.

UMS is conversant with MoD standards and is perfectly positioned to design, manufacture and construct compliant buildings, which are fully fit for purpose.

The benefits of rapid build times and reduced disruption during the construction process are significant. Around 80% of the build and fit-out process is completed in the factory, reducing the number of site personnel dramatically when compared to traditional building methods.
