Off-site volumetric modular construction offers many benefits over traditional methods of construction. However, to maximise these benefits it is critical to introduce the principle of volumetric modular build at the earliest design stage and to recognise the differing nature of constructing a building using this method of construction.
When executed properly, volumetric modular construction will provide benefits to the client, the main contractor and the environment including cost and programme reductions, enhancements to build quality, improved health and safety on site, a significant reduction in environmental impact and improved through-life performance.
